ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Megan Goldkamp

The Artisan Group is proud to announce today’s Artist Spotlight Feature is Megan Goldkamp of Megan Goldkamp Jewelry!

We caught up with Megan and asked her a few questions about her hand-engraved personalized jewelry line, and her experiences so far working with TAG. Here’s what she said:

Tell us a little bit about your shoppe. 

My shop is a mix between custom wax carved pieces with handpicked stones, and hand engraved items. I have begun to focus more on the hand engraving aspect in the past two years. I use a technique of hand engraving called “bright cutting” where I use a specialized sharpened graver (like a steel chisel) to cut away the metal.





What is your favorite product from your shoppe and why? 
One of my favorite pieces is my Sunstone and Sterling Silver Scroll Ring. It is made of various scroll shapes I formed and then soldered into a band. The stone in the center is a Sunstone, which is one of my favorite stones. It comes in a variety of shades, and this one has brilliant copper flakes in it, that can be seen under the right light.

When you’re not handcrafting such lovely jewelry, what are your hobbies? 

Unfortunately… or fortunately, jewelry is my only hobby. I have been trying to take up calligraphy as well, but almost all of my free time is spent on my jewelry or learning new techniques.


What do you like best about The Artisan Group? 

I’ve loved being able to read everyone’s post or questions, I find lots of valuable information throughout the group. I hope that through gathering the insights of others, I can expand my shop into wholesale markets in the future.

Megan recently participated as a display participant in a luxury celebrity gift lounge on September 21-22, 2012 at The W Hotel in Hollywood California, in honor of the The 2012 Primetime Emmys Nominees and Presenters.
