The Artisan Group is proud to announce today’s Artist Spotlight Feature is Pamela Petry of Seeing Is Believing!
SEEING IS BELIEVING
Seeing Is Believing Artistry was created for the need to get my wares out in front of people who love and respect art. I have sold in a few different shoppes, but I thought that this would help my wares sell better since I had moved to a small town in Washington State, where there really isn’t a large supply of shops. Plus, I became a stay at home mom and needed to keep my creative energy flowing and what better way is there to do that than sell and create more pieces.
What is your favorite product from your shoppe and why?
I really hate making these kind of decisions, but IF I had to choose, I would say my Dragonfly Heart Rattle. This is what started my earthy ceramic line of products. I love the look of the matte underglaze, with hints of gloss here and there. Plus, I am truly in love the dragonflies; they are so magical to me. Oh, and that hidden little treasure of the sound of the rattle when you shake it is just as wonderful as the design of the rattle itself. True Happiness!
The question is what hobbies don’t I have? I love to quilt, paint, create wonderful color groupings in our flower garden, work in our vegetable garden, camping, hiking, pretty much anything outdoors, and of course snowboard. I just LOVE the snow, and yes, I love shoveling it, as well. But most of these things have been put on the back burner or I just haven’t been able to do them as much since I had our son. He is now a very energetic 2-1/4 year old little boy. So now, besides making product and promoting, most my time is taken up by him and family time.
I really don’t have one particular item that I like about The Artisan Group because there are so many! First of all, I never would have been able to promote my wares to such a great venue as GBK Productions. That opportunity has led to getting my ceramics into celebrities’ hands, which has allowed me to explore other possible clients that I never would have been able to do on my own! Secondly, the group, as a whole as been wonderful, if there is a question you have, and, of course, there aren’t any stupid questions here, you most likely will get an answer back or guided to a link that can help. The support has been wonderful! Everyday we are all supporting one another in one way or another, and of course Valerie has been a wonderful lead teacher and cheerleader. It wouldn’t be what it is without her!
