We caught up with Sandra and asked her a few questions about her lovely line of handcrafted soaps, and her experiences so far working with TAG. Here’s what she said:

Tell us a little bit about your shoppe. 

My shop came about because of my love of everything homemade. I come from a culture that loves to make everything by hand, knitting, sewing, cooking etc. Being from Scotland, it is in my blood. While my husband was deployed with the Navy, I came across homemade soap, did some reasearch, and did a lot of practice and testing, from all of that Thistle Delight Soapworks was born. I love wonderful oils and butters, so only the best is used in my products. Everything is as natural is possible, and the only testing is done on my own family and friends, never animals. Spa quality products, but at affordable prices for everyone to pamper their skin.


What is your favorite product from your shoppe and why? 
It is very hard to chose just one product to be my favorite, I love everything I make. I suppose my whipped sugar scrubs are a huge favorite of my family and friends, but you never forget your first love so has to be my soap since it came first. My most favorite right now is my buying soaps for the troops, since I am part of a wonderful group of Navy Moms that send care packages to the troops.

When you’re not handcrafting soaps and other wonderful spa products, what are your hobbies? 

My other hobbies include cooking, some sewing, and biggest and longest love of hand-knitting. One of my latest things is Skyping with my sailor son when we can, too.


What do you like best about The Artisan Group? 

My favorite thing about being a part of The Artisan Group is the networking and friends you can make. Being a part of the (GBK) Primetime Emmys last year was scary, but everyone was very supportive and made me feel like I really could do this, and I did.

Sandra recently participated as a display participant in a luxury celebrity gift lounge on September 21-22, 2012 at The W Hotel in Hollywood California, in honor of the The 2012 Primetime Emmys Nominees and Presenters.

    Lovely to get to know you, Sandra! I didn’t know you had the soaps for the troops idea and I love it! I’ll give you a mention on my page; that’s just so cool. I now understand your shop name and the inspiration is very sweet. I need some soap, I think!
